Growing the perfect list
There’s so much to do as a business owner. Yet one thing you can’t ignore is having a plan to grow your list each and every month. As a matter of fact, I advise my coaching clients that list building should always be a monthly goal.
Although you know that growing your list can help you achieve marketing success, getting people to opt in can actually be easier said than done. Here are some simple tips that can help you with very little effort so you can achieve your goals.
First, avoid buying any form of list from anyone. While this may seem like the quickest and easiest way to obtain large list of email addresses, this is the quickest way to get your site and you classified as a spammer.
If you want a true following, make sure they opt in from your site only; otherwise, you run the risk of damaging your reputation due to improper email practices. Plus, it’s against the law to do it any other way.
Second, make sure you include an opt-in box on every page of your site. Since most of your visitors will come from search engine results or referrals, there is a high probability that your visitors will end up on pages other than your homepage.
In order to not miss out on a potential customer, you will want to make sure you give them the option to sign-up so they have the option to learn even more about the products and services that you have to offer. Even if they do not want to buy a product now, providing them with more information minus the sales pitch increases the chance that you will be able to turn them into a customer at some point in the near future.
